Try EasyGPS and see if that can get the Trip Log, if not you likey do have a problem. However, what does your question have to do with you subject line "Topo"???

topo

trying to get it to the mapsource topo program on the computer

.

Ok, let's backup.

What version of MapSource are you using? In MapSource, go to Help > About MapSource

Then, what topo maps? What format are they in? Are they already installed in your MapSource on your computer?

the version is 6.12.4 and

the version is 6.12.4 and data version says 4.00 and topo 2008 is on my computer not sure what format though, i thought i read that you can upload from the gps to the computer the trip trail (or whatever you call it)to map source topo and see where you were on the computer from what the gps stored,i hope that makes sense

.

You need to update your MapSource version to 6.13.7.

Use this link. Do NOT update to the current version which is 6.14.1.

New problem with reading TOPO from old discs?

I have loaded topo information off my older TOPO discs (Mapsource TOPO version 3.02) dozens of times -- up until October 2008 it worked very well. That was the last time I needed to do anything. Today I tried and got the error that Mapsource could not recognize the files. Updated Mapsource and it still cannot recognized the data on the TOPO discs. I also noticed that autorun (when I put the disc in the computer) does not start the Mapsource program. Could be a Windows VISTA problem, or could be a Garmin problem -- but either way it is disappointing and annoying. By the way -- Mapsource does recognize the tracks and POIs I pulled off of my GPS units most recently. It is just the TOPO information that it won't read.

By the way, this is the code they had me send to tech support:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?>
