When I got my first MSN compatible Nuvi, it came with a 12 months trial and they had a 6 month extension for $9.99.
Got my second 760 this week and activated and noticed that they do not offer a 6 month extension anymore.
$129 for a lifetime sounds better than a $49 annual subscription.
My only concern is that the Nuvi units will not last that long. I can use the MSN charger with different units.
If you would comment on your MSN subscription, it would help me to make up my mind which way to go when it comes up for renewal. I like the stock/News addition to the traffic and Gas Prices.
recent upgrade -- I like MSN
I recently upgraded from a 660 to a 680.
I like the MSN stuff. Traffic reporting seems to be about the same as on the 660.
I find myself more and more driving around (when I'm on surface streets) with the (MSN) gas prices being displayed -- it's a great way to build up situational awareness, getting a feeling for which areas (and gas stations) are higher and which are lower in prices.
Movies I could care less about.
Initially, I wasn't too impressed about the weather thing -- I can look out the car window, right? But after making a few trips between the Bay Area and Los Angeles, the weather thing has been useful -- I can look at cities on the path south (or north), and figure out when I'm going to hit bad weather (or get out from under bad weather).
