Hurry, BestBuy.com has the Nuvi 780 for $270.
But don't forget it's Best Buy - and they charge a 15% restocking fee if you change your mind about the purchase.
difference between a 760 and 780? I'm not clear on it after looking at the Garmin website.
The 780 has the MSN Traffic Receiver included.
This is what I'm not clear on. Does the 780 have the ability to receive two different types of traffic data?? I thought the 760 could receive traffic data.
I'm afraid I'm not really up to speed on this and have searched around but can't get a clear picture of what's what
I see these terms used:
FM traffic compatible
MSN® Direct for U.S. compatible
All the nuvi 7x0's (and maybe the 7x5's) can receive both types of traffic signals, but with any of them, you have to have the appropriate receiver, which is built into the charger.
The 750 only comes with a plain charger - no traffic receiver.
The 760 comes with the FM traffic receiver/charger.
The 780 comes with the MSN Direct receiver/charger.
I just called Garmin and he explained to me the MSN service is the primary difference, but the pure traffic portion of the 760 and 780 would be virtually identical.
I guess the 780 has more MSN type of stuff with gas prices, movie times, stock quotes, etc.
The 760 sounds sweet and the 780 is obviously a great buy at this price.
thanks to all.
Just ordered three of the 780s from Best Buy. I was leaning towards the 750 deal from Costco, but for the additional $70 you get bluetooth and MSN (3 months free).
What's the feel for how the 780 is working out there?
Thanks for the tip, I think that it is a good deal.
