There is no Auto Answer feature on Bluetooth

I have noticed that there is no auto answer feature on Bluetooth on my Nuvi 760 and I am sure other models will be the same. It will be nice to have auto answer feature for hands free calling.

Auto answer

Even cars with Bluetooth integrated in to the radio make you push a button to answer your cell so it is no suprise that your 760 does not auto answer. Auto answer may not be a good thing especially in heavy traffic or if your angry wife/husband, girl/boy friend, or any other conbination is trying to call.

The problem with voice commands

For voice commands (including map and other screen changes) you need to move up to the 800 series but there's still a button, it's just mounted on the steering wheel. I believe that's the case with most, if not all voice command devices in cars. You have to push a button first to tell the device you're ready to send a vocal command...so you may as well just push the 'answer' icon on your Nuvi.

Cheers wink

why

why would you want it?

It will be nice as an option

It will be nice as an option as I have seen it in other brand. It should be an option to select auto answer or manual.

Have you tried just enabling auto-answer on your CELL PHONE?

My thought exactly

I don't believe that a wired or wireless headset or other hands-free device has control of that. Like Don said, I think that feature is controlled in the phone. Mine can be set differently for "normal" and for headset (bluetooth).

On my phone it has auto answer for the headset and it is off, 2 seconds,5 seconds, and 10 seconds. Also have voice but need to push the button to start. I also have the same for car settings. I use verizon.

Actually, auto answer can be controlled by the headset. The Cardo Systems S-800 and Scala 700LX are examples:

An alternative is using voice commands to answer or reject calls, such as in the Cardo Scala Rider (The headset that is included with the TomTom Rider), on which you can talk instead of pressing a button.

Krieger.

Thanks all for your advice

Thanks all for your advice and views. It is not a big deal to tap on screen to answer the phone. I can live without it.

So ... Your phone doesn't have auto-answer? If it does, you don't need to live without it ..

My phone does has auto

My phone does has auto answer but then GPS picks up call and it displays message to accept or ignore call.
