What file do I delete?

Hello folks,

I have a Nuvi 660 blue toothed to my Motorola Razr V3 and I have sent a few text messages via the Nuvi to friends. My question is, how do I clean out my out box on the Nuvi 660? The old messages are still there and it would be nice to get rid of them at this point. HELP ME PLEASE!!

Thanks!!

Clint

Have you looked in the phone's "out" folder? Or "sent messages" - as far as I know - the Nuvi will reflect content on the phone, and not store anything on its own related to Bluetooth phone functions.

The outbox on the phone is

The outbox on the phone is empty which is why this is so perplexing.

How 'bout the "Drafts" folder under Messaging?

Are they by chance in there?

The drafts folder on the

The drafts folder on the Nuvi is empty as well.......NEXT!? I tell ya, I'm at my wits end as to where the HELL they are stored at.

Next...

Plug the GPS into your computer, and use the "search" feature to find text in a file, and put in a few words from one of the text messages - and search on the drive that is your GPSr - if that does not find them - perhaps someone else here can think of something.

Maybe not there at all

An option may be set in one (or both) devices to NOT save a copy of outgoing messages. ???

The phone is set to auto

The phone is set to auto purge after 1 day and I don't see an option to NOT save copies on it. I connected the nuvi to my computer and looked through all the files in notepad but did not find anything. I just emailed Garmin to see what they have to say about the matter.

Did the "connect nuvi

Did the "connect nuvi computer and search for text" a whack and it found NADA. I'm telling you folks, this is a tough one.

One more thought

You'd need to get your hands on a copy of Motorola Phone Tools - and use that to connect to your phone, and browse for a folder where those buggers may be hiding. There could be some folder you can't get to through the menu on the phone where it stores messages sent using a bluetooth device.

Last resort would be the "Master Clear" function buried within the menu system - that would wipe the thing back to how it was when it came out of its box.

WOW- I would be delighted to get any text messages to my 760 or 660. I get all the phone bluetooth functions sans text messages. I guess your Razr gets it all, NOT so with my LG cell.

If you can't find "them" in the GPS and you can't find "them" in the phone......what makes you think "they" are there at all ??
Purge means delete.....GONE.
Guess I'm missing something.

The phone in and out boxes

The phone in and out boxes show NADA, Nothing in them!. The Nuvi shows the outbox as having several messages in it. I can even click on them and it will READ ALOUD what they say, and I can even RESEND THEM so, SOMEPLACE they are being stored but WHERE is anyone's guess. I heard from Garmin today and they say the Nuvi does not store data on the unit but then WHY ARE THEY STILL THERE? I'm about ready to pull what is left of my hair out.

I've checked every box on the phone via the user interface and don't see them anywhere so, I'm still at square one with my Nuvi showing all the old text message I've sent from it when I enable the bluetooth.

EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!!

Are They Still There

Are they still there if you are not paired? If they aren't there when you aren't paired, they are on your phone.

I SOLVED the problem! They

I SOLVED the problem! They MUST be stored in a bluetooth data file SOMEPLACE because after I deleted the phone from the Nuvi bluetooth device history and then made a new connection, all the boxes on the nuvi are EMPTY. (THANK GOD) Now I'll have to see how long it takes to read my phone book off the phone as i lost all that as well doing it this way.
