Whether you receive enough traffic traffic alerts and you receive them early enough to be worthwhile may depend on where you live. When I was in San Diego the alerts were fairly frequent (during rush hour) and usually within ten miles of the incident. In that case it was well worth the cost.
Now I'm in Phoenix, Az and have never received an alert no matter what time of day or night so the traffic alert seems to be a waste here.
The good news is you have three months of service for free to determine whether it's worthwhile. I could be mistaken on this but think I've read that the service is now 'lifetime' for the $60 rather than an annual fee.
Cheers

I think they are worth while
as specially you are driving late at night and caught in trafic and unaware of road closings and other trafic problems. I have been caught in those situation 3 times already after having gps and seriously considering to buy gps that gives warnings.
Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the post.
I have FM Traffic in two different manufactured GPSr's, I like them both, I generally get alerts about 10 miles up the road from either.
