New mount for the C330

For about the nine millionth time, get a Garmin bean bag mount. Really. It's that good and practical. Just set it and forget it. Really.

As an avid fan of the bean bag mount, I could not agree more with Plunder. Not only is it set and forget, it's easy to put out of sight. I move mine between my wife's car and mine as she is the primary user (something about "directionally handicapped"). When we travel and stop for lunch or whatever we move it to the floor and up against the seat and leave it running. It's ready to go as soon as we put it back on the dash. Another nice thing about the bean bag mount is the passenger can move it to their lap to find POIs etc.

Suction cup

Try looking at what Ram Mounts www.ram-mount.com has to offer. I bought a suction cup mount for my heavy sp7200. It's mounted in a truck and I've never had it fall off. It's stays mounted for about 2 months at a time. They're a bit pricey, but well worth the money.

This is a 330 specific suction cup mount:

Bean Bags

Will a bean bag work on a c330? You have to remember that they do not have a ball mount.

Not all bean bags have ball mounts!
You can get bean bags for all models GPSr's by even other manufactures and not necessarily Garmins.

I have not seen/found a bean bag setup for the c330 type. Maybe BobDee can show us the link. All the ones I have seen are ball type or require you to have the windshield mount.

I got a bean bag for my grandparents and they really like it. My folks have my old c330 and I would like to get a bean bag for them as well.

free replacement from Garmin

I have a c330 and left it suctioned onto the windshield of my Suburban. When I tried to remove it the suction had actually melted/welded itself onto the windshield thus tearing a notch out of it to where it would not suction at all. I ended up calling Garmin and asked if this was a common issue and the rep said he had not heard of it before. He asked me for my address and told me he was going to send out a new suction mount at no charge (my unit was well out of warranty for this.) I'd say give them a call and try it to see what they say. If the first rep doesn't go for it, I'd call back later and see if you get someone else that will. Good luck

Thanks for your advice. I

Thanks for your advice. I will try to call Garmin tonight and see what happens. If it does not work, then here is link for the mount. Please let me know if this will work for me or not. Or if someone already tried it:

Friction mount for me

While everyone here seems to sing the praises of the beanbag mount, I prefer the Garmin friction mount. Less bulky and complete with its own power cord. Very slick unit. Works great with my c340, so it should work just as well with your c330. Just note that it will not work on steeply sloped dashes, but then again, neither does the beanbag mount. When you're checking out the beanbag mount, make sure you check out the friction mount as well.
