Loading files with Garmin poi loader

Ihave just made up a folder on my computer which contains subfolders some with bmp.csv.and mp3. files, others with just bmp.and csv.Now when tracking to poi in demo mode the ones with no mp3. file show icon at destination, ones with mp3. fies show no icon and the Garmin bong-bong proximity alert,I have been carefull to ensure that files in each subfolder are the same eg.Readlight_xxxxx.bmp/csv/mp3 or xxxx.bmp/csv
Can anybody advise what Iam doing wrong.Sat nav is Garmin 760T. Thanks

IF your sure

If your sure you have all the files named the same except for the .ext. check to make sure you dont have a second extension on them, some times when you make them it will throw in a second ext on top of the first, then load them with the poi loader, setting up the alert distance, if this isnt the problem get back to us, we can help get all this sorted out.

The other thing is to run the POI loader in manual mode. Red light and speed cameras will default an alert, others will not and the alert has to be set in manual mode.

loading files with Garmin poi loader

yep thats it Charlie do you think perhaps I have a faulty unit

.

Double (and TRIPLE) check for double file extensions. Be sure that your file browser isn't set to Hide File Extensions.

Also, double check for extra (or left out) spaces and/or underscores in the file names.

Try it with a different MP3.

Would not think that your unit is bad.Like MM states triple check your extensions.By any chance are you typing in the extensions each time?If so just type the name in and let the extensions take care of themselves.Let me know what the results are.

Blame it on Microsoft! The default settings in Win XT are to hide file extensions.

Thumbs up!

Good info.

Thanks
