Red Light & Traps Question

I DL'd these files to the 660, and went on a trip through red light stop signals. I got no response from the GPS. Is the file "skinny" as far as all the red light cameras in North Dallas. tia

Worked on my C580 without any problem.

If you are finding locations that you think are red light cameras please send me an email with the intersection names.

Miss POI

POILoader?

Did you load them with POILoader?

Yes I did. I must mention

Yes I did. I must mention that I didn't go to literal Dallas, but to McKinney, TX, 30 miles north of Dallas, McKinney is where I live. These cameras have been here for a long time, just thought it'd be seen with the POI.

They are in there

Unless they were removed recently, there are 5 listed in the file for McKinney, TX.

You could open the file, sort it and see if the ones you are talking about are listed.

Have you added new files

I have not removed the McKinney locations. Have you loaded new files onto your unit that would have overwritten any files that you had previously downloaded?

You have to install all POI files each time you add a custom POI File.

Miss POI

How To Open File For View

I went into the 660 via my PC and under the POI folder is a file which won't open. Just how do I view this for the McKinney flags? Thanks ml

I just looked in the Custom POI list in the Garmin, and it shows lights at 4.9miW, 6.5miW, etc.. This in my mind indicates that the file has the lights I went through, just no alert yesterday.

The file is located in the Extras folder if that helps.

I did install of the custom

I did install of the custom files I had previously, including the new red light file. My alert for Starbucks works OK. What exactly am I to expect to see/hear on the 660 when approaching a camera light? ml

I may have found some kind of answer in navigating to the closest red light camera intersection. It appears that the one RLC intersection which I have seen installed for years, is not in the file. I'll nav directly to one listed in the 660 to see if it flags. Just maybe the RLC at HWY5 and Industrial is a scarecrow.

Miss POI, I have little clue

Miss POI,

I have little clue as to why, but my 660 still does not flag red light cameras. I traveled through McKinney, down 635 south through Allen and Plano and Richardson, finally Dallas, I did not get any alerts about cameras. All the way back home, detouring east on Bethany in Allen to FM546, several RLCs, and no flags. I must have missed something in setting this POI of RLCs up. It has got to me. Ideas? sidV

.

A few things to check.

- Verify that he redlight camera in that intersection appears on the map in that location on your nuvi (zoom in on the map to verify)

- Verify that the word "redlight" appears in the Custom POI file that you loaded to your nuvi

- Verify that alerts are turned on your nuvi

- Verify that you are traveling on the road on which the Custom POI is located and traveling in the direction of the Custom POI

- Verify that you are within .25 miles of the the location while traveling on the road on which it is located in order to get an alert

Thanks all, they work for me

Thanks all, they work for me now.

And?

So what was the problem?

First, the RLCs I drove

First, the RLCs I drove through was not in the file. Secondly, I had not gone directly through an intersection which was in the file, just parallel streets, my bad.
