My California Trip

Left St. Louis on Sep. 5, flew into LAX, and from there, drove up to Monterey/Carmel and stayed 3 nights. Asked the steward on AA if GPS's were allowed. He asked the pilot and the answer was no. My StreetPilot worked flawlessly around LA, Red Light cameras were dead on. Sometimes "Carmen" was not quick enough to tell me to "Keep Left" or "Keep Right", and, consequently, thanks to the aggressive way they drive in LA, we got off the Freeway in places where we really didn't want to. So I guess like Chevy Chase said in Vacation, "We got to see a part of LA that you don't normally get to see". But overall, she got us where we wanted to go. Put over 1,200 miles on our rented van, and, thanks to all you great folks, and your great POI files, found every attraction and site we wanted to. Hearst Castle, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, several Missions, and wonderful Hollywood Blvd. Returned to St. Louis on the 14th, and again, pilot says GPS's not allowed. Maybe someday, eh?

Your trip

Awesome trip, Did a simular trip a couple of years ago. Flew into Reno drove to Frisco then down the coast, and out to flagstaff and flew home.
Saw some really neat things and a great trip of the west coast.

Curious....
What unit do you have?
Could the delays be due to the now infamous 7xx audio lags?
If so, are you running 4.x firmware?
(No..I dont have a 7xx, but am curious just the same)
