My first REAL trip with my Garmin

Just got back from Virginia to Michigan. Did a trip to help my Daughter move. I took my Garmin 750 and I am tickled to death over it's performance! It took me to within 50 feet of my destination, got me thru a trip into DC, (About 15 different interchanges) found a used bookstore for me to find some out of print books, found a Civil War Museum in Manassas, sounded a chime warning me of the rest areas ahead and even wiped my nose when I sneezed! razz
I'm going to find the guy that invented the Garmin and kiss him! I would have been Insane with just a map! shock
I will never be without one in the future.

I put tape on my mirrors so I don't walk thru one into another dimension.

I'm excited to hear you had a sucessful trip with your new Garmin. I'm new to my Garmin (or any GPS device) and have only played with it around town. I'll think more seriously about a travel adventure this weekend smile

Forgot to enable Highways

I got my Nuvi 200 a month ago in NY. Awesome, helped me getting around NY/NJ area which are totally unfamiliar to me. I did however, enable toll-avoidance.
Unfortunately, on my return home to Canada, I realized too late that it was taking me though a different and longer route. Instead of the I-XX highways.
Then I remembered the toll-avoidance. so I turned it on and although it added an hour or two to my travel, I still got home.... There should be a little Icon on the screen to show toll-avoidance active smile

I have to echo your sentiment. Instead of staying in the hotel room when I'm on a trip, I now have the confidence to pick out resturants to try, and sight see, without fear that I won't find my my back. It's singlarly the best thing I have bought.

I have to echo your sentiment. Since getting a GPS, I have been able to explore a city that I stay in on my trips. I never have to worry about the hassel of finding my way back to the hotel again.
