Nuvi 2009 update

I noticed it too right after updating, but it seems to work better now after "settling in"....strange I know.

I did not see any change in screen updates with my 350 after updating to the 2009 maps. Did you change the "detail" level setting? Even before the map update, I had noticed that setting it to "most" slowed down the screen updates a little so I compromised and always keep it on "more".

No, I've always kept it on most detailed. There is much more of a delay to update the screen now, particularly when the unit must announce something.

Well, you might be right, then. The 2009 maps DO have more detail in them than the 2008 maps did.

When my 350 was new I experimented with all the settings and noticed that increasing the map detail slowed down the screen updates a little. So did the 3D shaded vehicle pointers. Not a lot, but it was noticeable. So I compromised with "More" instead of "Most" and deleted all the vehicles. It uses a default 2D blue arrow if there are no vehicle files to load. It's something you can try and see if it speeds up your screen updates a little.

Yes after loading it was slow for a while, but it must have been trying to get settled in because it is getting faster. At least I hope so.
