TS Fay was a soaker here with 65 mph gusts, TS Hanna was a non-event here and Ike is way South of us and looks like a non-event for our location.

Hope it weakens VERY significantly over Cuba and doesn't regenerate too much. Watch out Galveston & Houston !

I can't believe it, one after another.

Here in the NYC area we were bracing for some high winds and a few inches of rain. The forecast was for the remnants of the tropical storm to hit us late on Friday, all through Saturday- but Sunday was supposed to be as if nothing happened the day before.

We got some gusts here on the South Shore- just 2 blocks from the Atlantic Ocean and quite a bit or rain- but I doubt we got the amount anticipated.

Sunday though was amazing. Not a cloud in the sky, barely a breeze and amazing sunny and warm weather. We spent 7 hours at a local park for a previously scheduled picnic. True to the meteorologists' word, Sunday did feel as if Saturday's weather had never happened (except for some telltale puddles and some fallen branches).

Been gone for a while, I been laid up with a broken foot and havent had the energy to get on the PC.; after 3 weeks though i am back and couldnt take being on the couch anymore. There really isnt nothing good on tv anymore.

My step daughter is heading back to Key West after evacuating this weekend. She went to Orlando and rode roller-coasters. Ike missed her completely and may hit us in the Dallas area as a Tropical storm this weekend, or miss us completely. Who knows?

You can tell that school is back in when the illnesses start passing their way through the family.
