NewUser: Trouble Using .gpx file

I downloaded the Garmin POI Loader and a file called Venice.gpx for uploading to my Garmin nuvi 350. I can see the downloaded .gpx file on my desktop but it is grayed out in the POI Loader.

I also tried just copying it to the nuvi but cannot "find" it with any of the standard buttons. Suggestions?

make a folder ...

make a folder on your computer, I call mine "Custom POI Files", and download all your files into that folder, then direct POI Loader to that folder.

Ongoing trouble

Thanks for the suggestion. I did create the new folder and inserted one .gpx and one .csv file. Neither file is accessible via the POI Loader on a Mac running OS 10.5.4
Other suggestions?

just direct POI Loader to the folder

don't worry about the files inside the folder - you will not see them. just direct POI Loader to the folder and run it. the POI files will load onto your GPSr

Yes, when you run POI Loader, you will be selecting the FOLDER where the data is located not the FILE.
