Please consider for the Alphabetized POI listing...

idea
May not be the exact right forum, but it would be great to show a 'last updated date' next to each POI title in the A-Z Alphabetized POI listing. This way, we could check at a glance whether we needed to update our personal collection of downloaded POIs. Not sure how difficult it would be to implement, however. Thanks!

Or a version number.
Surprised nobody mentioned this earlier.

Sorting as well

If a second column is added for date/version, it would be great to be able to sort by it so that the latest ones would float to the top.

nice...

nice idea

Download Manager

Great ideas, but I'd also add a download manager that would automatically update any poi's in a particular folder(s).

Of course then it wouldn't be an alphabetized list anymore, would it? wink

It could be both. All you would need is a sorting function which would display the list either in alphabetical order (with last update date) or by the date of the last update, latest first. That would make updating very convenient, but I've noticed that no improvements have happened in the 8 months I've been here, despite several such good ideas.

More ideas

Not to complain, just to throw around ideas to make the site even better:

Adding a mean to track more consistently the area covered by a POI file: local, state/province, 48 states, 50 states, CANada, North America, World, other, unknown. This could be in a drop down list from which you choose when you upload a file.

Even better, if you choose local or state/province, a table of the 50 states and 10 provinces allows you to specify the coverage.

This could then be displayed beside the name of the file, searched by or filtered depending on our needs.

Again, that's just asuggestion...

Simon

Since we're throwing out ideas...

... and completely off topic from the original post, it'd be great if there was a way to bookmark our favorite pages and treads here, similar to the way our own posts are listed on our "Track" tabs. I have plenty of bookmarked pages in my browser and the thought of adding another folder filled with links doesn't appeal to me very much.
