Just received a refurbished nuvi 760 last week and am happy as to the features it has.
Am a bit disappointed because the internal memory is only 2 GB (I think the 770 has 4 GB) but my 4 GB SD fits into it so that's fine.
Memory
Have you gone though the internal memory and deleted all unnecessary files? If you clean it up, You will be able to put all the POIs and other stuff that you want available without a problem.
Memory in 760 and 770

I think the reason for the 4gb memory in the 770 as opposed to the 2gb memory in the 760, is that the 770 has the combined maps of North America and Europe. Whereas the 760 only has the North America maps.
If you consider the amount of memory that is needed for the maps in both units it probably works out that there is about equal memory left available for user use. And I mean "about", there could be a few megs difference.
