current.gpx

we have two GPS Garmin nuvi 660 and we need to find the way how we can join or merge our two current.gpx files? Please help, if you can. Rasto

merge 2 current.gpx

If you have Mapsource you can import both sets of locations from the gps units . . . then use "save as" in gpx format to save all the locations in a new current.gpx file and upload it back to each unit.

Try overwriting the current.gpx file on unit A with the file from unit B and vice versa. When you restart the units those files should append themselves to the favorites already on the units.

What is current.gpx?

Sorry for my ignorance, what is current.gpx? Is it the location when the GPSr was shut off last time?

I tried to upload a route from Mapsource to my Nuvi 200, and noticed the route file is in the same folder as current.gpx, but I could find the route from the menu. Is it because Nuvi 200 does not have the capability for showing the route?

Current .gpx

The current .gpx is the favorites you have on the gps at this time, it will change as your favorites change. (adding-deleting).

The only ones that will support routes from mapsource is the 7 and 800 series.

Current.gpx is actually a COPY of your favorites, so overwriting it doesn't delete anything. Upon shutdown, the unit evidently reads the file and adds any that aren't in the real favorites list, which is hidden.

Combining without MapSource

If you copy one of the current.gpx files to your SD card and give it a different name the nuvi will copy any points in it to your favorites.
