C530 Shuts Off When SD card Is In slot...

Hi, Well I have always loaded most of the POI's onto my SD card since I first got the c530 for Christmas. To say the least I have accumulated many different POI's. Anyway just recently after doing the usual POI Loader installation, the c530 after I start it up seems OK then shuts itself off. If I remove the SD card the unit is just fine. At first I thought maybe I have too many POI's for it to handle. Then I thought maybe I have a bad POI file in there somewhere. If I erase all the POI's and just put a few on as a test , it was OK. My SD card is a Sandisk 2G and has plenty of room on it. Has anyone experienced a similiar situation? If so I would appreciate any information to help me remedy the problem. Thanks!!

Scott you said If I erease

Scott you said

I would suggest that you load one set of files at a time and maybe you can see which one is giving you the fit.

Thanks...

I corrected that typo, thanks! Anyway I guess I could load one set of files at a time, but then again I am not convinced it is one of the files. I think its a software issue with the unit. That is why I posted here to see if someone has experienced the same thing and has found a solution. Thanks!

Maybe the card is bad

Do you have another card to put in your C530?
What about reformating the card and not putting any data on at all?

The SD Card Seemed Ok...

The SD card seemed Ok. I actually deleted all POI's on it and started loading some files by themselves and the card worked fine with no effect on the unit. I wonder if it's possible to actually have too many POI's and the c530 rejects it. I use the proper format for folders and subfolders and never had a problem till recently. POI loader when completed says everything was loaded successfully. If the problem persists I will try another SD card and see what happens.

Scott.

Do you think that you may have a problem with the loader, which one are you using? Just a thought.
I had a SP530 and never had a problem with poi's, altho i hadnt loaded a bunch, maybe 3-400 at the most.

I have been using the same POI loader...

I have been using the same POI loader since around January this year. I never had a problem and POI loader indicates no problem. As far as it being the POI loader causing the problem, I would not rule it out at this time. Thanks!

C530 Shuts Off When SD card Is In slot...

I would try deleting the last POI's you downloaded (one at a time), since your Nuvi was working prior to downloading the last few. It seems that you ran in to the problem after this.

Scott

Try loading half of the poi's in the card and see if it work's if it does not work then try the other half. Try to verify it that way.
Mitch

I loaded all my POI's except...

Well I loaded all the POI's I have saved (over 900,000) but did not load the new Railroad crossings files that I recently downloaded. Everything loaded OK and I do not have a problem anymore. I am not saying there is anything wrong with those files but for some reason they are having an effect on my unit. I will try loading the combined xx-crossings file instead of each stste indivdually and see what happens.

All Is Well...

I now loaded the file RR-XXings all states combined no signals and everything is ok. Since evrything is ok now I will leave it alone and see how it goes.
