Magellan Maestro 4250 Free Map Updates

Hello everyone, I've got unit with date code 04/2007 but it still hasn't covered lots of new streets names in the city of Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton & Niagara Falls (all Canada cities - as I've personally checked it out) and some of the streets were ready in 07/2006. Tried to explain this to Magellan to at least provide complete 2006 Map updates on 2007 made units but still waiting for reply, they're neither posting updates (my friend bought similar unit in 2008 with date code 06/2007 but still has Map updates same as mine unit)nor replied me yet, Magellan should atleast give one free Map update to it's registered/owner users for the update they buy the unit - manufacture versus sold time period. If I get my reply and free Map update from Machellan I'll definatelly share the news with ya all, meanwhile any suggestions, questions, feedbacks !!!!! Please feel free to share !!!!!

Not likely

Good luck with that. I don't think it has ever happened before......with Magellan, that is.

The problem you describe is not unique to Magellan. There are only 2 "map companies" out there and neither is known for being anywhere close to up to date with new/changed secondary roads and city streets.

I think most Magellan users would be happy to PAY for a map update......if they just could GET one.

Magellan

They dont do map updates. I had a roodmate 300 and I
kept it too long to return it waiting for the map update that never was available

Not sure that's true

It may SEEM like that because of the LONG time between updates. I think it has been close to two years since the last one.

There is another thread on here with a tentative schedule, I believe.

Well Garmin updates have come a long way and to keep their product competitive it's about time ( looks dream right now but may be a reality soon) Magellan has to comeup with more after-sale service to get to number one in GPS world. Even with not-so-good customer service Magellan still rules 'cos of their very versatile product line but little more support will go a long way to keep them above all competition in GPS world.
