Garmin Mobile XT on Nokia N82 black

Hi (again!).
Sorry to everyone for repeating this request, but is there anyone out there in Garminland that has successfully managed to set up POI proximity alerts on the Nokia N82?
I have tried everything mentioned on this site, but only manage to get the POI icon onto the screen/map, with no alerts at all.
Yes, I've tried manual and express, and individual distance/speed settings in POI loader, but nothing doing.
I know that most users on here are not familiar with Garmin Mobile XT but I hope that someone has the magic 'ingredient' that I'm missing.
As I stated before, this is not just a gimmick for me, but could be a real lifesaver in this country, with jungle and dead end tracks being a major hazard.
The version of XT I'm using is ***.60.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated from this end.

But possibly nobody has had any luck and isn't a member here or like me doesn't have that gps....

Yep, I think that's the reason, but I'll keep trawling for the magic ingredient.
