760 Bluetooth Connectivity Problem

I've been struggling with this through a couple of rounds with Garmin Tech Support. They've been great, but they haven't been able to help me and I no longer have any free time when they are available, so I thought I'd see if anyone here can assist me.

It seems that I can connect my 760 to either one of two Treo 650's (though only one at a time has BT on), but the minute I return to the main screen I am disconnected. Garmin had me downgrade to Bluetooth 2.4, but that didn't work, and neither does the 3.x version that is currently downloading from Web Updater. I have tried initiating the connection from both the 760 and the phones, and it hasn't made any difference. Since both phones fail, I conclude the problem is somewhere in the 760, but I am at a loss as to how to proceed.

I thought the 3.x upgrade was supposed to solve the BT problem, but the Garmin tech admitted that it hadn't been a perfect solution. That was why she suggested downgrading. Anyone have any ideas? TIA.

That was it. I kept setting the durn thing as a headset. (It seemed like a good idea at the time.)

It's working on one phone. The other one won't be available for a while yet, but phone one is working fine. I can't help but think phone two will be blabbing through the 760 before bedtime tonight.

Thanks very much for your help.
