A minor complaint

(Didn't there used to be a forum for Comments to the Operators....or something similar ??)

I have noticed lately that, after posting a reply in a multi-page thread, the program takes you back to the FIRST message of the thread (first page).

I can't see how that is useful and I find it rather annoying.....as I want to proof my post in it's final form. Any chance it could take us to the END instead of the beginning ??

Also I would like to add.

Also I would like to add. That when you click on the " * New" It also takes you to the first page of the multi-page thread. I would like it how if you click on that it just takes you to the first newest post or the last page.

A reason requset

I vote for this suggestion. It should go to the latest posting first especially the ones with long threads.

Site Suggestion

A thread was started named "Site Suggestion" with some posts previously.

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/9685

.

I brought this up a couple of months ago in this thread: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/12960.

In other words, it is a software problem that hasn't been solved yet.

Don't understand that. I don't see a "New".
I see Unread and Recent but not new.

If you start with Unread and then click on the title of the thread, it will take you to the first unread post.....near the end, not to the beginning.

Don't know about Recent; I don't use it.

[Added later:] AND explained more and better in the link posted in the previous message !!

what I have seen ..

if you got to my account then track, to see if any new messages that you replioed to have new messages, I have noticed that it does take you to the begining but if you notice the number of new messages, just go to the last page and scroll up to the messqages to see whqat your missing. The unread posts works great. What I have been doing is going to see if I gewt any new messages from my older posts then go to unread and start from oldest message to newest keepingt in mi9nd for my own that I want to read. works great. Not everythiong is perfect but works good to figure out how to use this site with good results. Hope this does help. I dont read everything but if the topic sounds good, I read it and try to help or learn something new.. REMEMBER.. topics is the 1st thing the user sees and will open the message or not.

I love this place and the people here are qll great!

what I have seen ..

If you go to resent post it will show you all of the resent post that have been posted and will show a red new if you haven't read it yet. That's one of the ways I check for updated poi' It also show the post for items that you may have selected not to be notified about.

Yeah, I'm for the above

Yeah, I'm for the above suggestions as well. But I understand if its a software limitation.

Me Too

Same as above comment I agree

A very good idea.

A very good idea.

New

I believe the "new" is only there indicating it is a new post. When you are logged in, if you click "unread" under your sign in name, it will pull up all the topiics that have had new posts. When you click the thread, it will bring you to the last pots and you will see that it says "new" for that post. If you want to find where you have posted comments, you would click "my account" then "track". "Recent" just pulls in everything that has been posted.

a very very good idea

a very very good idea indeed.

New

I have some topics blocked so that they don't show in my unread messages..example I don't use the redlight file as we don't have many where I live unless I go to the bigger city. I then have to click on recent post to see what has been posted.

recent posts

I agree. There should be a way to go to the last comment posted. when there are multiple pages, it is time consuming to go through all the pages.

I just made a post on a

I just made a post on a different way to read messages. check it out and see if that dont fit what your looking for.

I always use the "unread posts" link, and it takes me directly where I want to go.

However, if you want to go to your own recent posts, there is a problem. You can only go to the new posts on that page with some difficulty if there are more than 50 posts in those threads.

unread posts

Unread posts works the best for new posts.

My difficulty is I always have trouble searching for what I am looking for. Like when I searched for "Site Suggestion" it brought up 12 threads before the actual title of "Site Suggestion". I always find what I am looking for but it takes a while.

I don't seem to be having a problem?

Honestly, I don't have a problem with either command myself.

site issues

I agree. When I want to check if there are any replies to my posts, I have to go to recent and then my post and then go to the end of the posts and go backwards. There should be an easier way.
