Chit Chat Thread for the week of July 07th 2008

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related, you can discuss whatever you would like, as long as it is clean. Remember we have families that have their children involved in the GPS fun and we don't want to make parents feel uncomfortable when their children ask what that word means.

Have fun...

This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.

Go Rays

Oh, boy! The Rays dropped their last home game to the Royals and followed it up with a loss to the Yankees in their series opener in NY. Not good sad

Is this the beginning of the end?

You really don't have to ask anything, just jumpin and have fun. It all about community.

Beer and wine

That's one of many things I miss about Washington. I could get beer and wine at any grocery store.

Here in Colorado, you can only get limited selection of beer, and wine (or anything stronger) is out of the question.

"That's one of many things I miss about Washington. I could get beer and wine at any grocery store"

Ah, but you can only get liquor in a State Liquor store that really jacks up the price on everything and you can't shop around because they all are State regulated - ugh!!

ONSTAR

Has anyone tried Onstar nav directions? Just bought a new car and got a 30 day trail of Onstar nav directions free. Might give it a try with Jill (my GPS) watching, and see the differences if any.

I wasn't impressed with directions provided by Onstar. My nuvi 350 works much better.

The Rays, the Rays are less than ideal, not that the Indians are much better. Go with a team that has some history like the Yankees.

What is the harm in beer? LOL

Dave MP wrote:

OMG! I hate dry counties. I went to AL and the county that I was in was dry. I tried to go to 3 other counties and I couldn't get any either cause it was a sunday! There are a few dry counties still left in NC too.

Four day work week

Try to convince my employer to implement 4-day workweek. The company can save on heating and cooling bills. It also wouldn’t cost the company to give the employees an extra day off and save some money on gasoline.

CLEVELAND -- Ben Francisco drove in a career-high four runs Thursday night to help the Cleveland Indians snap a 10-game losing streak with a 13-2 victory over Tampa Bay.

The loss extended the Rays' skid to four.

Cleveland last dropped 10 in a row in 1979.

The Indians and avoided their longest losing streak in 77 years by hitting four home runs to overcome a 2-0 deficit. The last time the Indians lost 11 straight was in 1931, on the way to a team-record 12 consecutive losses.

MY LIVING WILL

Last night my sister and I were sitting in the den and I said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle to keep me alive. That would be no quality of life at all, If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

So she got up, unplugged my computer, and threw out my wine. She's such a b****.

I'm back

Just got back in town from spending a few weeks in Hungary. Didn't bring my GPS b/c I didn't think I'd be driving. That's what I get for thinking: I drove the whole time. Wish I had brought my TomTom to let the rest of you know some really cool places outside of Budapest, but alas, I didn't. Have to make sure I do next time!

TomTom Would have been at home!

Favre

The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Don't know enough about the man from Kiln, MS, but I've seen others. Ditka is a wreck. Marino is a statue. Brown (of GB) has a nonfunctional arm. They don't let on.

It's a boy's game afterall. I'd prefer to miss the thrills on my TV and have these folks spend a few decades with the things they find important (when they find them).

That'll do it for me. wink
