POI to micro SD card not main GPS

I would like to load my custom POI and my MP3 selections to my micro SD card. I can put the MP3 selections on the card but I can't figure out how to put the POI on the card using the Garmin POI loader. It would appear they are loading on the main Nuvi 850 not on the card. I am very new at this so please excuse this question if I am not understanding just how things work!

If someone could please give me detailed directions on both loading POI to the card using the Garmin POI loader and removing the POI that I now have on my Nuvi 850 I would appreciate it.

This senior really needs step by step instruction!

Thanks

Me too.... on all counts.

Me too.... on all counts. And does it matter to the nuvi speed?

POI Loader gives you a choice of where you want to load your Custom POIs. You would simply need to select your SD card from the drop down list when you get to the screen with the "Find Device" button.

If you want to delete Custom POIs from your GPS unit, you can use POI Loader to do so. Or you can connect your unit to your computer with the USB cable and navigate to the poi folder on your unit with My Computer and delete the POI.GPI file.

Cool

POI to micro SD card not main GPS

Thanks very much.

I just knew it would be some simple straight forward solution. For some reason I neglected to check out the drop down window in the Garmin POI loader.

Which is faster?

Is one storage location any faster or more efficient for nuvi to access? I can always uninstall and reinstall onto the card when she starts to max out, if ever.

not working

I have followed the directions but when I look to see if the files are loaded, they are not. What now? I get the message that I have loaded these files.

They loaded somewhere...

Did you load them to your gps or a sd card? It really shouldn't make a difference unless it loaded it to a different sd card than the one you have in your gps...

To find the custom poi's go to Where to>Extras>Custom pois.. tap on custom pois

This doesn't work for me. Custom POI's is blank. But when I plug nuvi into the car it asks if I want to load. I say yes and the POI's are available but not if I look for them. They just work, like the rest areas. I really wish I could see them and be able to actually access them. Must do more studying to figure this out.

Are you saying that when you TOUCH the Custom POIs menu item that nothing comes up on the menu screen?

Do they show up on the map screen if you zoom all the way in?
