POI file arrangement in Legend HCx

I have a number of POI files in different folders, which I am familiar with loading to my Garmin Legend HCx, using POI Loader. Three questions now arise, however:

1. I have a number of folders within which I have one or more .csv files. The number of .csv files that I have in some folders is rather large, with the consequence that there is a long list to scroll through in the Legend's 'Custom POI' list (I have chosen to break the country down by region in the belief that if I can select that particular database in my GPSr, the search willl be conducted more quickly - some of the files have tens of thousands of records). If I create a sub-folder in which to put these many .csv files, they are now under one heading in the 'Custom POI' list, but I have lost the ability to select a particular region, because if I click on that new heading, the GPSr will immediately conduct a search, instead of next providing me with a list from which to select my required region. Is there a way to overcome this, or should I really use 'Change Reference' in the Menu to facilitate a quick search?

2. Is there a limit to the number of databases that the Legend can hold and display in 'Custom POI'?

3. Garmin seems not to use alphabetical listing when loading POI files. Sometimes, it seems as though it might be by date, at other times it seems random. Is there a method by which the 'Custom POI' display can be made to appear alphabetically?
