What are you trying to do with the card?
What is on it.....or what are you trying to put on it?

You can not get anything onto the card without either the card itself or the whole GPS being connected to a computer.

Just got a new 4250 and found out that it doesn't work anything like my 4000 when it comes to the SD card and custom POI's. It appears that you can NOT get to the SD card through the GPS like you can with the 4000.....and some other models. Looks like you must LOAD the card via a card reader on the computer. The only good news (if you don't have a card reader) is that you can load custom POIs directly to the internal memory. The POI editor even has a "load" option for that.

Hope some of that helps, as I'm not sure I understand the question.

Magellan Maestro 4250// MIO C310X

My 4210

...can load poi's from the SD card by going to Points of Interest/Enhanced/Change my POI file/Select a poi file. Choose what file you want and, Voila, fait accompli!

To the original OP, you have to have the card in your unit to select it. Otherwise, you have to put the poi file (*.mgln) into the CPOI folder. Turn it off, then on again and it will load from the folder.
