In serious deperation need help. (nuvi 350 / 5.50 upgrade)

Garmin 350
Software Version 5.50
Audio Version: 1.90
GTM10 SW Version: N/A
GPS SW Version: 3.00

I got a Garmin 350 about 8 months ago and just recently I use webupdater provided on Garmin site to update to Version 5.50 (I did not back up the old files).

1)The GPS SW version stay the same even after I downgraded the software version. Is there any way to downgrade the GPS SW version?

2)I deleted all the small files except for the one big img file to make room without first backing up since I thought all the deleted files will be in the recycle bin but it's not there and basically my Garmin is useless now. Can anyone kind enough to copy and send me all of their original Garmin 350 files (except for the gpx and the giant img file). Thanks you very much

Send the Nuvi to Garmin

I do not think you can go back. There are a lot of glitches that may occur if you try and reload files like that. Your best bet is to send the unit into Garmin. They usually return it in just a couple of days.

I kind of understand what you are asking

What do you mean by downgraded? Have you talked to garmin tech support? Have you tried or can you try the web updater?

Yes I already tried

Yes I already tried webupdater but as I already have the lastest update which is 5.50. I want to downgrade my GPS SW version to say 2.5...etc

Also can anyone please try to send me the file before I contact Garmin support. I'm pretty sure that the files will work.

No can do..

It's been posted here several times there is no going back.. I don't know why but that seems to be the general consensus sad

Why do you want to do this, as a matter of interest?

WebUpdater should be able to recover from that state. (In fact the unit should still work, albeit without any sound.)

What's the actual problem you're experiencing?

1) Well I find the upgraded

1) Well I find the upgraded GPS SW version 3.00 take a longer time to get a fix on satellites and the accuracy stay above 40 feets compare to the normal 12-15 feets with the old version.

2) Webupdater won't recognize the nuvi drive.

Anyway I just contacted Garmin support and they gave me a RMA #. How do I go about to sent the unit back for recovery. I have never sent any package before.

pack securely

Make sure you package everything securely. Wrap with bubble wrap and/or foam. Write the RMA number on the outside of the package. Make sure you send it with tracking.

Um.. I got a medium UPS box

Um.. I got a medium UPS box from ordering stuff long, can I use that and can I give it to the postal service

Yes

Yes

I sent mine in a box that was used for holding accessories. I shipped it using USPS using flat rate priority mail. Just make sure you have the RMA number on the front of the package.

I know you said that everything was gone on it but when you get it back, it will most likely be a different unit. I think they typically just give you a different one and toss the incoming one into a pile to be worked on at a later date. So don't send anything you expect back. (like cables, sleeves, screen protectors etc...)
