Red Light Camera Question

I have plates on front as well-New York State.

From The Rear

I'm from Florida and we only have rear plates. If I'm visiting New York State, they will have to shoot their picture from the rear in order to read my plate.

Red light pictures

In California they take four pictures -- one close-up of the driver, the front of the vehicle, and two of the back-- my daughter got one.

Red light cameras in front

My personal experience with a camera in Orange County is that they take several pictures: front plate, rear plate, driver, and a widescreen photo showing the car and its position in the intersection.

Smile if you run that red! cause they can indeed snap a frontal

Some states have two plates some have one, to answer your question. Ummm Yes some do! So smile next time you have the urge to run that light. However there is a proponent in your corner on this issue, just read the link below for the details:

Red Light Cameras

Quite a few drivers out here in California don't have front plates because frankly, your car may look better without one. I did that for a long time and never had a problem until I parked in the long-term lot at LAX. Yep, got ticketed for not having a front plate.

No where to hide

Fork over the $$$. You just can't win. They got you with the candid camera. Smile!??? evil

Gotcha in Texas

Here in Texas, at least everywhere I have traveled, the little rascals will get you in both directions

RLC from the rear, Radar Cameras from the front

Red light cameras get you from the rear, because they snap you AFTER the supposed infraction.

Radar (speed) cameras get you from the front, with a close up of the driver because they catch you coming towards the camera exceeding whatever speed is posted (supposedly). I have even heard that California or Arizona (maybe both) are sending seatbelt violations along with the speeding tickets if they see that the driver is not belted up.

Not all states, like Texas, allow for speed cameras. Arizona, where Redflex HQ is by the way, is putting them on interstates as well as city roads.

red light cameras

every red light camera i've seen is located on the right side of the intersection at about the cross walk area. I'm wondering how they snap a picture of the front or back of the car because the violation takes place as you enter the cross walk??

State Law

I hear some states have red light cameras but state law does not allow them to be used. Has anyone heard of this?

Photos from both directions ...

... is my experience too. They take a picture from the front to show the driver and the front plate, and from the rear to show the rear plate and the red light lit. I believe there's at least one from the side and above showing you in the intersection as well.

Red Light Cameras

Does anyone know if there are any cameras where one camera covers both directions of travel for an intersection?

I'm kind of wondering if it's possible (feasible) to change the POI's so that they only alert based on the direction of travel (if you're traveling west with no traffic light you don't need an alert for a camera positioned for traffic traveling east with a traffic light). I can think of three just near me where this would be beneficial. I'm sure there's many many more.
