map icons on garman 350

The black square dots are most likely your custom pois if you didn't install a .bmp image with it.

I know that .bmp files will work as POI´s Icons when named exactly the same as the POI´s .cvs File, however the quality of the icons is not "perfect" when they´re too small. Is there another format that would work as icons??? Something like png???
As I understand it, .png files have a better resize quality, which means that when reducing it to 24x24 or 18x18 as suggested in this site, they should look better...am I wrong???

.png files won't work. .jpgs might but you probably won't get better quality with those.

Also, the icons work work if they are larger than the prescribed size.

may help you decipher icons.

If you have a "browse map" feature, you can zoom in and touch an icon (other than custom) and it will display some info about it...even the "square dots". You have to be accurate with the touch to get it just right. Just don't use a sharp pointy object, edge of finger / nail works fine.

I have noticed that if I go to my menu listing my FAVORITES, and select a specific fav - then select the edit menu - you will should have a displayed menu for icons to select from - hope this helps
