Software for creating POIs

Hi, I am new with GPS and just got my Garmin Nuvi 260 last week.

Any suggestions on a software for creating POIs? I went throught some of the post and seems like there are so many to choose from.

Give a try to the s/w of one of the members here, GeePeeEx Editor, by Phil Hornby: http://geepeeex.googlepages.com/

He offers a free trial version.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

YES THIS IS GREAT SOFTWARE but if your ISP locks paypal out it will be no good to you, because you wont be able to pay for the unlimited version ! But the SOFTWARE is great!

I bookmarked the page so I can check it out better when I get home. (Yes, I'm at work at the moment.) This looks like a GREAT utility. I'll get the trial version to play with first. I just ordered a Nuvi 760 from Amazon about an hour ago. If this utility is as good as it looks like I can easily see myself buying the full version.

Google and Mapquest both have new capability to create and download POIS for Garmins. See discussion: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/12132

that is what i figured , so it hit me to get you here! i hate my isp, WHAT IS THE WAY WE CAN DO THIS?

I HAVE TRIED PAYPAL WITH 3 DIFFERENT BROWSERS, NO LUCK , I HAVE ASKED MY ISP TO UNLIMITE PAYPAL , NO LUCK? ANT SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT!

I have tried 3 different browsers, i have asked my ISP to unlimite PayPal no luck, how can we get this done!

Another vote for GeePeeEx! I've been using this software exclusively to build all of my pOI files. Program works great, has many features to allow customization, and Phil offers upgrades and better support than I've gotten from many commercial software companies.

phil's software is by far the best investment you could make for creating poi's and the help / support is above and beyond what most companies give.

great software go out and get it, you will love it!
