Nuvi POI

New to GPS and to forum. Got Nuvi 660 for Christmas and would like to load POI's to SD card. I can d/load POI to Nuvi hard drive and it works great. However when I d/load to SD card and touch favorites it does not see POI's. Is this a case of "user malfunction" or is there a problem w/Nuvi? What am I doing wrong?

welcome smarking

Custom poi's will be listed under "extras" and not "favorites"
Select "where to" --> "extras" --> custom poi's

I would assume that since you got poi's to successfully load to the hard drive you are using the garmin poi loader.
With the sd card installed you should get that sd card to show up as a removable drive, be sure to select that drive as the place you want the poi's to end up.
Just go slow, and be patient, the additional drive (the sd card) may take a second or two to show up. Insure that you select that drive and not the nuvi hard drive as the destination.

AHA I figured it out

Ismonop thanks for your reply. I found out that it was user malfunction as I was loading the POI directly to the SD instead of to the computer and then transfering it to the SD. It works fine now. Thought I would post this reply for others suffering the same malfunction.

POI Loader

OK, I'm a klutz, why can't I get the POI Loader installed? It's whining about a folder (that I created on the PC) being empty, needing at least one file with a .csv or the other extension, don't remember.
How can I download a .csv file without installing the software first, like the instructions say to do???

Nevermind, just figured it out, I was 'jumping the gun', and didn't quite realize that the data files would be found ON THE 660! Duh!
