Garmin's Route to My Street - Badly Misrouted

Garmin’s routing of the following route is very baffling. As you approach My Street on Riggs road from Phoenix both my nuvi 750 and MapSource miss the left hand turns on Price, then Lakewood, then Dobson and finally turns left on Glenburn. This adds over 2 miles to the route. There are no turns or other restrictions on these roads. This is a gated community and all four of these roads are gated and none are the main entrance so the gates don’t appear to be a factor in the routing. In fact there is no indication that Garmin knows anything about any of the community gates.
If you reverse the route then the routing is directly to Price and Riggs and then West which is over 2 miles less than the above.
Any thoughts on why Garmin so badly misroutes this simple route to my street?

Google Maps routes it the same way so the error is likely in the map data not necessarily in the routing algorithm. My guess (even though it doesn't show up this way) is that the maps are perceiving that there isn't a road break at those streets that the route is passing. It obviously can route that way in reverse because it's making a right turn and not a left turn.
Remember ... co-pilot not auto-pilot.

Hi neighbor, live in Mesa myself. I have noticed a big difference in the way my 360 routes me sometimes between the fastest and the shortest route. The shortest route to me seems to be an out of the way route sometimes.... Just a thought about the settings.
Nuvi 750 And a 2006 Star Venture between my legs.

Very interesting. Sure makes me wonder how these streets are coded.
Good suggestion about different settings but in this case the results are the same.
Is It The Gate
I added a new destination on Price Rd in Google. ie Phoenix to Price to My Street. The routing now turned left on Price and then back down to Riggs and follows the original route I described above.
For clarity the gate is on Teakwood off of Price. There is yet another gate on Mossy Rock off of Price which it now avoids.
However when I added a Price Rd destination to MapSource it made the left onto Price and then went throught the Teakwood gate to My Street.
The mystery deepens.

I have seen here in San Diego CA. a lot of places I go to are .2 miles off even up at Big Bear it was about .2 miles off. I went to Sea world today but if I did what my c550 told to do I would have been in Mission Bay. I also seen it wanting to take me on routs that are longer to get where I am going. Like leaving Sea world for National City Ca leave Sea world left on sea world Dr .3 miles to I5 South go 13 miles done you are there in no time. My c550 says to take Parsec Dr to I 5 south that a 4 miles and 6 lights out of the way.
