Any thoughts? - eTrex Vista HCx or Colorado 400t

If money were not an object, which one would you choose for the best all around handheld. I have Nuvi 660 for the car, but wanted something available for hunting, hiking and general travel.

Thanks in advance for your input...

.

If money were no object, then the Colorado.

A better place to get input on this is the Groundspeak forums.

Thanks... After browsing

Thanks... After browsing through groundspeak, it seems like there may be some issues with the early Colorado models. I may hold off for a little while to give them a chance to stabalize the unit.

eTrex Vista

I have a similar question/desire. I have an original eTrex Vista and Love it. The one thing missing is the high sensitivity receiver, so the Vista HCx looks very appealing. Not to mention, no usb support for the original Vista.

I also do some bicycling. The eTrex Vista HCx seems to be a good multi-function gpsr for hiking, biking, etc...

.

The Vista HCx is a great unit.

Again, the best place to find information on this unit is at the Groundspeak forums.

Etrex are Great

My first GPS was the Etex legend CX I love it I does things the Nuvi cant. I have never had a problem with getting Sats unless I am inside. It has the ability to take routes..and also will take the full road maps. It has the north arrow..it will do a bread crumb trail. The only reason I bought the Nuvi is the Etrex screen is too small to use while driving..and the menus are not as easy to use if driving. If I am co pilot I have the Etrex as it is fun to use as a Back up to the Nuvi. And off road it is Etrex all the way. Water resistant and very portable...

Colorado

The new Colorado 300 is essentially a 400 without any maps. But you can load whatever you like it on (It has 384 megs of ram) or on a microsd card. They are selling online for around $400, not much more than the Etrex. I had an old Vista, which was ok, but the Colorado screen sure does look great. Garmin just released a firmware update for all the Colorado models, so I am sure any issues have been worked out.
