Preferred coordinate format

I checked the FAQ and didn't see the answer to this question there but I've been known to be brain dead at times so please bear with me.

Since I'm pretty new here I have a question regarding coordinates. Is there a preferred format on this site when referencing a location?

Example:
Coordinates for a campground I'm going to check out. (It doesn't appear to be in the campground POIs that I downloaded from here.) All four below are coordinates for the same place in different formats. Is one type preferred here over the others?

DD MM.MMM ---- N 40 11.017, W 121 42.839
DD MM SS.SS ---- N 40 11 01.02, W 121 42 50.34
DDD.DDDD ---- 40.183617,-121.713983
UTM ---- 10T E 609481 N 4448930

Decimal Degrees

The Garmin POI/CSV format requires decimal degrees...if you're going to do a POI file to upload, you'd have to use that.

.

For Custom POI files, the coordinates need to be in Decimal Degrees.

DDD.DDDDD°
N 32.30642° W 122.61458°

You can see the full CSV format on this page.

The 'Help' section of POI Loader has info on Garmin POI format as well as info on setting alerts.
