Don't forget my favorite hangout, The Peppermill coffee shop. Great food and service, etc. Convienient location on the strip. Very nice atmosphere.

I'm a vegas local and I think it's great that you are doing this. Restaurants and parks are things I'm definitely looking for updates of. Thanks for your work!

Can they add your collection of Las Vegas POI's to a subsection of the Metro Projects? That'd be great if there was a Las Vegas, NV Metro Project link. Thanks.

Can you add the Vegas shows? e.g. Blue Man group, Cirque du Soleil, etc.

If Miss Poi wants to add it as a Metro Project I would be happy to keep an eye on it.

I'll work on the shows, parks and the rest. I had added Dunkin' Donuts and In-N-Out locations but they seem to have disappeared...someone eat them? LOL

Those get added under the POI Package for their restaurants. I do have in on my list to add Las Vegas to the Metro areas this week and will have all your files presented there.

I just uploaded a portion of a "project within a project". Each year the local las Vegas Review-Journal prints a magazine called "The Best of Las Vegas". Now in it's 27th year, it is a result of both mail-in and internet votes.

I have just uploaded "Las Vegas, Best of - Food" which is the POI of all the locations of the best eateries in Las Vegas metro. From tacos to gourmet, "best view" to bakeries; it's "local" as hotel/casinos are in another category.

Next up is "Las Vegas - Best of Shopping"...from CD's to thrift shops...

Great project. For area attractions how about:

1. The two entrance stations to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area

2. Lake Las Vegas

3. The Desert Wetlands Park off Boulder Highway

4. Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (which also contains Mt. Charleston)

5. The Desert National Wildlife Refuge

In case you couldn't guess, I'm an outdoor enthusiast.

Great project. How about including that great little neighbor to the north-Mesquite?

Glade to have found this thread, will look over the metro project files this weekend. If anyone has poi's of comedy clubs, really good food at reasonable prices, 2 for 1 buffets, discounted shows, etc. please let me know.

I am visiting Vegas and have downloaded the Las Vegas, Best of - Food (local) file. The first place I tried to go is a vacant lot, there is not an In N Out Burger at 2900 West Sahara or the cordinate data is sending me to the wrong location on Sahara. I ended up about a mile from the store on Maryland.

Realy cheap breakfast buffet $12 each, I mostly ate shrimp and crab.

I was told about this special by my ATV tour guide. Ask for this special, it is not on the menu.

Best show and buffet deal, $25 each
We were walking to Ellis Island about 3:00 PM Vegas time, in front of Flamino Casino, a Flamingo costumed women was handing out discount tickets. Show and best buffet I ever went to in my life. Plus tickets had discount coupon to Mac King Show the next day at casino across from Mirage.

The Lat Long data in this file needs to be converted to Decimal.
A Great Tool that can help is on this site. Search for Extra POI Editor or GPX, it will allow you to save files as .gpx. You can also verify on the map that the location is correct.

Hotel locations many are not correct. Some examples are Bellagio and Paris Casino & Resort both take you to some vacant lot near Pecos Rd. in Las Vegas, well away from Las Vegas Blvd.

I made an updated POI for all the Las Vegas hotels using the original file's physical address listings for each hotel. Where do I upload it?
