MapSource on Vista

Works great.

One thing to note: With Windows Vista, if you have any intention of connecting TO the machine running Vista using Windows Remote Desktop from another computer on your LAN, the Vista machine has to be running either the Business or Ultimate version. The 'Home' versions of Vista do not allow Remote Desktop sessions to connect TO computers running those versions of Vista.

Now, for those of you who have no idea what the (bleep) that means, you don't have anything to worry about...and for those of you who do know what I'm talking about - you're now more informed, and will be able to select the proper version of Vista to meet your needs. Sometimes I think I'm on this Earth to provide an example for folks to learn from my adventures in life...

Not Updating Yet!

I just build my self a super fast new computer. I don't plan on upgrading to Windows Vista at least for a few months.

I'll wait for some more drivers and bugs to be worked out first and read some reviews. One of my favorite magazines is maximumpc. http://www.maximumpc.com/

Vista and also Macintosh

Vista Business is stable on the Macintosh (Parallels Desktop) - more so than on my SONY Vaio.

All the Vista features work. with the exception of those not supported by Parallels such as bluetooth connections (but the bluetooth mouse works)and multiple cpu's (cores), which are published. Don't forget to set up the usb ports in Parallels.

The Garmin products work fine.

On the Macintosh OS X side, the Garmin Beta utilities work fine, but the poi loader does not provide the custom options provided with the windows version.
