I'm not necessarily advocating purchasing the update from this site, but here's some extensive information on the update.

Take note of the stipulated conditions for the free map udpate.
It's important for users to take note of which models/products are eligible for a free update and which are not.
And also which products are compatible with the update and which are not.
If you already have the maps.......
I already have the 2009 update on my computer in Mapsource. I own the update for both of my current units.
If I have an unlock key for the 200 and remove the "extra" space using files from the unit could I simply send the maps from the computer to the 200 and, in that manner, get the entire mapset rather than just the lower 48? That's how it installs on the 76CSx but I'm not sure if that works with the nüvi series or not.

You should be able to select the non-lower 48 areas in Mapsource and send them to an SD card. The 200 doesn't have enough internal space to store the full mapset. I have done this with the 2008 mapset, and have the 2009 edition of the lower 48 istalled on the uhnit itself..
