How do I put a gpx file on my Garmin Nuvi 200?

I downloaded the gpx file and tried to use the loader to put it on my Nuvi but the loader doesn't recognize it. Any suggestions?

What file

What file are we talking about?

Did you point to it with POILoader?

Make sure the file doesn't contain a second file extension in the name.

POI Loader

You do not need to point to the POI file itself when loading it using poi loader. Instead, just put it in a folder and when instructed by POI loader, point to that folder (instead of the file). Let me know how it goes!

Guess I have to be a little more specific

I didn't say point to the file. However, I can see how you could interpret that from what I did write.

Now, if you could provide more information on what you are trying to do/have done, it would be helpful.

I did not read your post by the time I wrote my reply. . Apparently, you were quicker than me to post your reply and I did not get the chance to see it before posting mine.

And yet

We still haven't heard from the person wanting the information.

Oh, well, I hope he gets it to work for him.

The file is the Anytime Fitness gym pois. its .gpx.txt

Still can't get it on my Garmin

.txt files are not supported by POI loader

A POI file name should end with either .gpx or .csv extensions. I wonder how your file has two extensions in the same time ".gpx.txt"? So, what I would advise is to delete the .txt extension and keep the file name look like "file name.gpx" and then try uploading it.

Geocoding accuracy...

I notice that that particular file is from gpsvisualizer.com...

The following entries appear to be unlikely, since they geocode to "City-level" accuracy:-

  • Blythewood
  • Brunswick
  • Hanahan
  • Gainesville
