Raw file: Radio - KC Royals.csv (4.51 KB)

Includes 82 locations in the following areas:

  • United States: IA, KS, MO, NE
  • some may be in: OK (near a border)

This file contains 82 KC Royals radio affiliates in IA, KS, MO, and NE.

8/17/2024 - This update adds an FM radio station in the Kansas City metro, KFNZ-FM, broadcasting at 96.5 MHz. This is good news for local Royals fans, because the only local station previously available was 610 AM, KCSP, with a static-y 5,000-watt signal. (The 610 AM station's call sign is now KFNZ-AM.)

6/20/2024 - With the Kansas City Royals doing well (and with TV coverage limited to $20/month Bally Sports+ subscriptions), it's time to update the list of radio stations that carry Royals games. The starting point was the official list of Royals radio network affiliates at https://www.mlb.com/royals/schedule/royals-radio-network-aff.... I confirmed the radio tower locations of the stations there were added since I updated this list in 2015. (The file was originally created by dkeane in 2008.) Note that the longitude/latitude coordinates for these stations are the locations of the actual transmitting towers, rather than the cities where the stations are licensed.

While doing this update, I learned that many of the FM radio frequencies on the Royals radio list were NOT the "main" FM frequency associated with the listed stations' call letters. For the most part, they are towers that relay the AM stations associated with those call letters. For example, the Royals radio list says KKOW in Pittsburg, Kan., broadcasts Royals games on 97.5 MHz FM. But KKOW-FM broadcasts on 96.9 MHz FM, not 97.5 MHz. In point of fact, a tower broadcasting at 97.5 MHz out of Joplin, Mo., relays KKOW-AM. So 97.5 MHz is the FM frequency where you can pick up Royals games in the Pittsburg, Kan./Joplin, Mo., area.

I was not able to confirm the tower locations of four FM frequencies on the list of Royals radio network affiliates. So I omitted them from this update. You can listen to their AM stations in Ulysses, Manhattan, Fort Scott, and Liberal, Kan.

3/23/08 - Added 32 Kansas stations that failed to show in original file.

4/15/08 - Updates from CaseyGuy
* Added KMBZ AM 980 - Sunday Only
* Changed Coordinates to tower sites.
* Changed the call letters for three stations.
--- KWLS AM in Pratt KS is now KMMM.
--- KCAY FM in Russell KS is now KRSL.
--- KFLA AM in Scott City KS is now KYUL.
