Lost in Arizona....

This is a true story.

About 1-1/2 years ago, my significant other flew to Arizona for a work related assignment; she was scheduled to be there for 5 days. When she arrived at the airport in AZ, she was greeted by co-workers and driven to the local car rental place, where she was given her hotel address and told that the rest of her co-workers would see her at 7:20am in the morning at the location for her work assignment.

The first thing she found out was that AZ is HUGE and the roads are VERY CONFUSING!! It was late that night when I got the call, it was my significant other calling in a panic and tears saying how lost she was and that all she could see around her was desert. I told her to hang on and booted up the computer, I then headed over to Google maps to see if I could find where she WAS and where she was SUPPOSED TO BE! After about 5 minutes I managed to find her, she was nearly 30 miles out of Mesa, AZ and 45 miles from her hotel. I watched her progress on Google maps as she called out to me the different intersections and road signs she passed all the while her being freaked out and me telling her where and when to turn.

The next morning I was at it again, she called me to say she was lost so, there I was at Google maps calling the way she needed to go to get to her destination. I think back to then and if we could have afforded a GPS unit (they were about $1,000.00 then) I would have gladly gave it to her for the trip, the peace of mind alone would have been worth it. Oh and one of the employees in UPPER management DID purchase a GPS unit after they got lost the first day and they billed it to the company. I wonder if theirs talked back, like the one my significant other had named Clint, the original GPS unit! (LOL)

What Gps you were looking at for $1000.00? I bought a Street pilot III in June of 2002 for $555.00, a 2610 about three years ago for $600.00 and recently a 2820 for about $650.00

Ok, well the reason that I

Ok, well the reason that I got one was cause I was using mapquest directions and saw the turn a bit late and tried to get over and got hit. I was too afraid to go off the route that I took the chance, and I got hit.

Now, I will go 20 blocks if I have too. Cause I know that eventually I will get there.
