Wish List

If you check under the discussion group, creating POI locations, you will find several people recommending or starting new POI's. I just finished a fun project with two other members about Radio Stations. This started as a request for a listing of NPR stations and then morphed into broader projects. It was a lot of fun and we all learned something new.

I kind of jumped the gun last night when I somewhat agreed to help another user build a POI comprising of Radio Shacks, I did not realize that for one (1) at least in CA, you have one like every few miles, and (2) most of the Radio Shacks are already contained in unit which would serve no purpose but have double entries. I think we need to check out first to see if that data that we desire to have as a POI is not already loaded for us. Just my opinion

This is one of my minor annoyances - the pre-existing POIs - especially the ones that no longer exist - I wish there was a way to delete them without going to Naveteq's reporting system and then wait until the next update comes out. There's a place near me listed as a gas station that hasn't been one for at least 4 or 5 years. I did report it to Navteq - and I hope they kill it in their next release.
