Are you a POI Factory Star?

Jon and I are going to tease you today about a new feature that will be rolled out on Monday.

I just can't help but leave you all in suspense over the weekend wondering what we are up to now.

What do you think, are you a star here on the POI Factory?

What qualifies you as a star, what benefits and responsibilities go along with this new level within the community?

There are currently around 300 stars here at POI Factory wink

More details to come later this weekend........

Miss POI

P.S. this means a new icon to work towards.....

Details

We are adding a new program to recognize loyal users who have established a long term posting record. These users will receive the new “stars” badge and have greater access to create and edit content on the site.

The way the “stars” program works is similar to “active users”, except that it looks back over a longer period of time (6 months vs. 5 weeks). To qualify as a “star”, you need posts in at least 9 of the last 26 weeks. Looking back over a longer period of time, the “stars” program will select users who are among the most loyal, trustworthy and knowledgeable members of our community.

Jon and I have been looking for a way to let more people maintain pages outside the forum area (like FAQs and GPS Model reference pages). We will gradually rollout wiki style tools that “star” members can use to collaboratively create and edit pages.

Stars will have free access to the enforcement camera files. So once you’re well established on the site, you can be away for a longer period of time and still keep the same privileges as an active user.

We will probably need to do some fine-tuning as we move forward. We are excited about this new level in this already great community.

The stars will show up later today and will be updated at the same time as the active member badges (Monday morning)

I won't be holding my breath, besides, I don't look good as a smurf! (LOL) I kind of knew what she meant when she said there was already 300 of them on POI, that gave it away for me.
