Cool DeLorme Trick

Just figured I would add a not so well known trick for DeLorme users.

DeLorme allows you to import all kinds of things in to it but this one I think is pretty cool.

Earthmate Image Tagger is an easy-to-use program that lets you link your digital photographs to a GPS log so you can see exactly where you took a picture along your trip!

You can download the free software to link your images at http://www.earthmate.com/eaimta.html

It is easy to use and fun.

Not tested but I am sure that this could be used with other GPS devices also with a little tweaking of the GPS log files since this created a Long/Lat CVS/TXT file to import the image locations based on the date/time on your pictures and location. It reads a standard TXT file so figuring it out to work with other devices should be a cinch.

Open Source Program, too

There is an open source program, GPicSync that also tags the pictures based on the GPS log file. It can upload them to Google Earth along with your track. Fun stuff!
