How should I save updated files I download?

I downloaded the red light cameras about a year ago. Now I have a yearly subscription and downloaded the updated file. I have the POI's saved in the following folder: My Documents/My Garmin/Custom POI.
The red light camera files are the same file name. What I did this time was add a 1 to the end of the file name, so I believe the POI loader saved both red light camera files to the GPS (the file from a year ago, and the new one I just downloaded).
As I continue to download updated files, how should the red light camera file be saved? Should I just keep the same file name and overwrite the previous file of the same name?
Thanks.

Just load the new red light camera file and overwrite the old one. You don't need the old data as it will be obsolete.
Incidentally, don't put a number digit in the Custom POI file name as it will sometimes cause an unwanted alert (See the help section of POI Loader).
