Hide Forums in Unread Posts

Unread Posts has a new feature that lets you hide forums that don't match your interests.

This setting only affects the unread posts page. Posts from all forums are still visible in other areas of the site.

When you're logged in, you can visit Unread Posts and click "Forum Preferences" to set forums as hidden.

JM,

JM,
Is the board software an in-house product? I see no reference to the s/w anywhere. I've been bragging about the ease of use on a board based on V-bulletin and they've asked about your software. The best feature is the skip button in unread posts. If only we could see the forum in which the post was created. But I guess this latest addition of a preference setting to hide certain forums is going to eliminate any decisions.

The unread posts page is a custom add-on. As of earlier this week, the forum in which the post was created is shown below each post that's listed on the page. smile

No skip button?

The skip link has been removed in the latest update. I miss it.

.

There's a skip "button" on the unread posts screen that I'm seeing.

Jon, thanks a bunch, I

Jon, thanks a bunch, I wanted that. I would always have to mark the "other forums" read after I got through my perferred one. Great addon!

As MM said, the skip is there, just smaller and at a different location, it is now under the title.

Thanks, Jon

I guess that is what I get for posting so late at night -- my eyes were already asleep. Err . . . like I said, great that we can see the forum in which it resides. redface

Right you are. I just didn't see it at first in the new listing format.

Another question?

Are there plans to make the line containing number of new posts clickable like it was in the previous setup??

I thought the same thing, but clicking on the Subj line now does pretty much the same as that did before.

LOL
I've been grumbling for the past two days about not having the SKIP button and wondering why everyone thinks the new format is so great.

Thanks MM. Do you also provide glasses cleaner along with your sage advice.??

: )

Well, it is a bit smaller than the previous "skip" link so maybe I should send a magnifying glass instead of glasses cleaner.
