Volume on the C340

I just bought a C340 and used it everyday for work. I have to set the volume at the last two settings because I can't hear the voice when it announces. Is there a volume problem with this type of unit?
Volume on my c330
I have the same experience whit my c330, the controle for the volume is not very good.

It's too bad....
It's too bad Garmin didn't put an external speaker jack on the c340. I run mine at full volume when running the GPS alone but then again, I mount mine low on the consol of the truck with a Cummins diesel for background sound. I did find I had great sound through my laptop when running the c340 with "nRoute" so I wonder if the USB port on the c340 would fire a set of USB speakers (grasping at straws) - this of course would elimate the possibility of charging the battery in the Garmin while driving. Just aint no easy way around it unless we can get Garmin to crank up the volume.
