Since you can't "see" the c330 from your computer, how do you know how much storage space is available on the unit?
Since it will only store POI's there as opposed to its SD card, space is really important.
You don't
You, technically, don't know how much you have. However, the unit has approximately 1gb onboard and you can subtract what the update takes (about 900mb) and arrive at a number below 100mb. This is just a guesstimation, however.
You could call garmin and ask the tech what you have available....I would be interested to know if it is more than what I stated.

Yeah, unfortunately there's no way to really know.
People have reported that they have been able to load about 2MB of Custom POIs. This will vary depending upon what version of the maps you have loaded.
I think I remember seeing,
I think I remember seeing, in several earlier posts, that Garmin Tech support is pretty consistent in stating that the unit has 2MB of space RESERVED for custom POIs, regardless of what map version is loaded. I have the latest version of maps for US and Canada FULLY installed on my C340, and I seem to still have approx. the 2MB still available (I have tried to trial load POI files above and below this 2MB threshold and it seems the 2MB is still pretty acurate.
C330 has less
The C330 will only load one region of the maps in the map storage area. However, I believe you are correct in the amount of storage for the POIs.
