Interesting Number Crunching

OK - I've created a few POI files and uploaded them. Out of curiosity I've check the number of downloads for each:

NJ Community Colleges - 37
COSTCO US Gas - 41
NJ Microbrewries - 24
Ocean County (NJ) Libraries - 5
Surf Taco Restaurants - 12
NJ Shore Conference Member Schools - 2

The Community college is the oldest (from July 07), so the high number does not surprise me. Nor does the new COSTCO Gas for the US. Though it is new (1 week), it has a nationwide audience.

What cracks me up is the NJ microbrew list. Only a week old and it a runaway best seller, out pacing schools and libraries in NJ.

NJ - we have our priorities.

No surprise

My Tampa Bay Eats project has an average of 15 downloads per food category, Tampa Bay Storage rentals 3, Celebrity Chefs 17, now in comparison my Tampa Bay Strips (strip joints) is close to 50 so I guess we have lots of people from NJ living in the bay area.

I wish all the files available for download showed the amount of times each file has been downloaded no just the ones we have personally uploaded, I asked Miss POI and her reply was that it was done that way by design, I wish they reconsider and let us see the stats of what the most popular files are.

That may be one reason it's set up this way. One could alter any download count as desired.

I just love the idea of

I just love the idea of having all of these POI files here at our finger tips whenever we need them, no matter how popular.

Let's not forget ... the Microbrewies files is for the entire state, the Libraries is only Ocean County.

I'm not driving all the way to Ocean County to visit a library after drinking some good beer in Bergen County!!! surprised

And for that ...

I Thank you - for not driving to OC from BC after a visit to a microbrew!

Unlike many people who live near the NJ Shore, I welcome one and all - please leave your tourist dollars behind! wink
