Nuvi / Windows XP interface

I know this is more of a computer issue than GPS but, thought I'd ask.

When I hook up my Nuvi 660 to my computer with the USB, Adobe Photoshop Album program runs automatically and looks for files on the Nuvi. How do I disassociate that program from my GPS?

~

There's a setting in the Album program under Preferences | Files that can be selected to "Automatically search for and reconnect missing files" - if that is enabled, disable it.

Adobe is probably seeing either some .jpg or .bmp files on the GPS and thinking it has to open them. Do you have several photos on the unit?

Click on properties, then autoplay, then mixed files, no action

If I understand what is happening, hook up the nuvi via a usb, then after it sees it, in the file explorer, right click on the nuvi drive (and sd card if you have one, after this), properties, autoplay and then get mixed files and choose take no action (do this automatically).

Good luck

I went into the Adobe

I went into the Adobe program and changed the "preferences" . Looks like it's good now. thanks.

I think...

You probably were in the Adobe program and somehow browsed to the Nuvi to view a picture, and Adobe expected to be able to go to the Nuvi any time it was hooked up to your computer while it(Adobe) was open...and I think that setting change should stop that behavior.

Auto Launch

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements. If the Adobe Photo Downloader is set for Auto Launch it will open when a device with pictures on it is connected - whether or not Elements is running. Was very bothersome until I found that it could be disabled in the Photoshop Organizer module of Elements. Nothing in the meager manual that came with Elements mentioned it - found it in a third party book on Elements. Works OK now.
