Bought a Garmin 330C - really great!

I just bought a c330 two weeks ago and it's been great. In my experience so far, the c330 has quite a bit of stuff already packed on there. Lots of restaurants, parks, landmarks, etc. Whether or not you need more is up to you.

The ability to add POI's to the unit is great though. As you have seen on the "free POI files" page, there is quite a bit to choose from. I would encourage you to try it out. For instance, I am very interested in the parks, beaches, and trail POI files. There is quite a bit there already, and there is sure to be more.

I'm pretty new to this as well, but I am looking forward to building a POI collection to suit my needs. The people here are very helpful with any questions you may have. Try it out and see how you like it.

I was having a little trouble loading POI's onto the unit. I never did get it to work from an SD card, but was finally able to get it working by loading to the GPS unit. If you have trouble, you should read the "Downloading POI's to SD Card- Using Garmin c330" thread on the help forum. User JM was able to help me out a lot.

I'm still trying to figure out what the SD Card is for ??

My POI's work great, but you can only load them to the unit.

Right now it's just a storage spot for my extra card..

I just bought the Garmin 7200. I,ve been reading the faqs on POIs and was afriad to try and load them on my GPS. After reading Miss POI questions and answers I figured I would try to load the Red Light Cameras and a few other POIs via the Garmin POI loader. It worked great and was very easy even for me. I,ve been a member for only one day an already I,am getting on to it.

I also just bought a Garmin c330...

Just loaded up some poi's to it. No problem.

Found out a restart was needed for both the PC and the GPS unit before I could get the uploaded to work.

the sd card is for new map's only.
